Catford Cleaners Service Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Catford Cleaners provides residential and commercial cleaning services within its service area in the United Kingdom. By booking a service with Catford Cleaners, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions:
Client means the person, firm or company who books cleaning services with Catford Cleaners.
Company means Catford Cleaners, the provider of the cleaning services.
Services means any cleaning or related services provided by the Company to the Client.
Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.
Cleaner means any employee, contractor or representative engaged by the Company to provide the Services.
2. Scope of Services
The Company provides domestic and commercial cleaning services, which may include regular cleaning, one off deep cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, after builders cleaning, office cleaning and related services, as agreed at the time of booking.
The precise scope of Services, including the type of clean, number of cleaners, estimated duration, and any specific tasks, will be agreed with the Client during the booking process. The Company reserves the right to refuse or discontinue any Services that in its reasonable opinion are unsafe, unsuitable or fall outside the agreed scope.
The Company will use reasonable endeavours to provide the Services with reasonable skill and care and in accordance with industry standards for cleaning services within its service area.
3. Booking Process
Bookings can be requested by the Client through the Companys accepted booking channels. By making a booking request, the Client confirms that they have authority to enter into a contract for the Premises to be cleaned.
All booking requests are subject to acceptance by the Company. The Company will confirm acceptance of the booking and the agreed date, time, type of service and any applicable charges. A contract between the Client and the Company will only be formed when such confirmation is provided.
The Client must provide accurate details regarding the Premises, including size, condition, access arrangements, parking availability and any particular requirements. The Company reserves the right to amend the price or refuse the booking if the information supplied is incomplete or inaccurate.
For certain Services, such as end of tenancy or after builders cleaning, the Company may recommend or require an on site assessment or detailed description to provide an accurate quotation.
4. Access to Premises
The Client must ensure that the Cleaner has safe and timely access to the Premises at the agreed time. This may include providing keys, codes, entry instructions or arranging for someone to be present to grant access.
If the Cleaner is unable to gain access to the Premises at the agreed time, the Company may treat this as a late cancellation and apply applicable charges as set out in these Terms and Conditions.
The Client is responsible for ensuring that the Premises are reasonably prepared for cleaning, including removing valuables or fragile items that may be at risk and securing pets where necessary.
5. Client Obligations
The Client agrees to:
Provide a safe working environment for the Cleaner, including running water, electricity, adequate lighting, and safe access.
Inform the Company in advance of any known hazards at the Premises, including alarm systems, defective fixtures, or restricted areas.
Not request any tasks that could compromise the safety of the Cleaner or fall outside the agreed Services, such as work at unsafe heights or handling hazardous substances.
Ensure that any equipment or cleaning products provided by the Client are safe, in good working order and suitable for the tasks required.
6. Company Obligations
The Company will provide Cleaners who are appropriately trained for the Services to be provided, and will take reasonable steps to ensure reliability and professional conduct.
The Company will make reasonable efforts to attend the Premises on the scheduled date and time. However, attendance times are approximate and may vary due to traffic, weather conditions or other factors beyond the Companys reasonable control.
If the Company needs to rearrange a booking, it will notify the Client as soon as reasonably practicable and offer an alternative date or time.
7. Payments and Charges
The Client agrees to pay the charges for the Services as quoted or as otherwise agreed at the time of booking. Prices may be based on an hourly rate, a fixed price for a particular service, or another structure notified to the Client.
Unless otherwise stated, all prices are inclusive of standard cleaning materials and equipment provided by the Company. Any additional services or special materials may incur extra charges, which will be agreed with the Client in advance where possible.
Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking, and may include payment in advance, at the time of service, or within a specified period after completion. The Company reserves the right to request full or partial payment upfront, particularly for one off or specialist cleaning services.
If the Client fails to make payment by the due date, the Company may charge reasonable late payment fees and interest, and may suspend or cancel further Services until all outstanding sums are paid in full.
8. Cancellations and Amendments by the Client
The Client may cancel or amend a booking by following the Companys accepted cancellation or amendment process. The Client must provide as much notice as possible in order to avoid cancellation charges.
The Company may set a minimum notice period for cancellations or rescheduling, which will be notified at the time of booking. If the Client cancels or seeks to amend a booking without giving the required notice, the Company may charge a cancellation fee, which may be up to the full price of the scheduled Service where reasonable.
If the Cleaner arrives at the Premises and is unable to carry out the Service due to lack of access, health and safety concerns, or circumstances within the Clients control, this may be treated as a late cancellation and cancellation charges may apply.
9. Cancellations and Amendments by the Company
The Company reserves the right to cancel or amend a booking where it is unable to provide the Service as agreed due to reasons including staff illness, vehicle breakdown, severe weather, or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
In such cases, the Company will notify the Client as soon as reasonably practicable and offer an alternative date or, if payment has already been made for a Service that cannot be rebooked, a refund for the affected Service.
The Company also reserves the right to cancel the contract with immediate effect if the Client breaches these Terms and Conditions, is abusive towards Cleaners or staff, or creates an unsafe working environment.
10. Quality and Complaints
The Company aims to deliver a high standard of cleaning throughout its service area. If the Client is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Service, they must notify the Company as soon as possible, and in any event within a reasonable time after the Service is provided.
The Company may request photographs or further details in order to investigate any complaint. Where a complaint is justified, the Company may, at its discretion, offer to re clean the affected areas, provide a partial refund, or make another form of reasonable resolution.
The Client agrees to allow the Company a reasonable opportunity to rectify any issues before seeking alternative remedies.
11. Liability and Insurance
The Company will maintain appropriate insurance cover for the Services it provides. Details of insurance cover can be provided on request.
The Company will not be liable for any loss or damage arising as a result of inaccurate information supplied by the Client, failure to provide safe access, defective equipment or products provided by the Client, or any instructions given by the Client that are contrary to the Companys recommendations.
The Companys total liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, shall be limited to the value of the relevant Service provided on the date of the incident, except in cases where such limitation is not permitted by law.
The Company will not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of income, loss of enjoyment, or loss of opportunity, arising from the provision or non provision of the Services.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes the Companys liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Damage and Breakages
The Client must notify the Company of any alleged damage or breakages caused by a Cleaner as soon as reasonably possible and within a reasonable time after the Service. The Company may request evidence and may need to inspect the Premises or the item in question.
Where damage is established to have been caused by the Company or its Cleaners and is not attributable to fair wear and tear, pre existing damage or defects, or misuse by the Client, the Company may arrange for repair or replacement, or offer appropriate compensation, subject to the limitations in these Terms and Conditions.
13. Waste and Environmental Regulations
The Company will handle waste generated during cleaning in accordance with applicable waste and environmental regulations in the United Kingdom.
For domestic cleaning, general household waste may be placed in the Clients own bins or refuse containers as instructed by the Client, provided that this complies with local collection arrangements and regulations.
The Company does not generally provide removal or disposal services for large quantities of waste, hazardous waste, or items such as paint, solvents, chemicals, construction rubble, electrical appliances or furniture, unless explicitly agreed as part of a separate service. Where such services are agreed, they will be carried out in compliance with relevant waste legislation and may incur additional charges.
The Client is responsible for informing the Company of any waste that may be hazardous or subject to special regulations. The Company reserves the right to refuse to handle any waste which, in its reasonable opinion, may pose a health, safety or environmental risk, or which it is not properly licensed or equipped to handle.
14. Client Property and Security
The Client is responsible for securing valuables and fragile items before the Cleaner attends the Premises. The Company recommends that cash, jewellery and other items of particular value are stored safely and out of sight.
If keys or access codes are provided to the Company, these will be stored and used with reasonable care. The Company does not accept responsibility for any loss arising from keys or codes being supplied to it, except where such loss arises from the Companys negligence.
15. Health and Safety
The Company is committed to maintaining high health and safety standards. Cleaners are instructed to follow safe working practices and to refuse any task that they reasonably believe to be unsafe.
The Client must not instruct Cleaners to lift or move heavy furniture beyond safe manual handling guidelines, to use ladders or equipment in an unsafe way, or to come into contact with hazardous materials.
16. Force Majeure
The Company shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms and Conditions where such failure or delay results from events, circumstances or causes beyond its reasonable control. Such events may include but are not limited to extreme weather, fire, flood, acts of terrorism, pandemics, strikes, transport disruption or governmental restrictions.
17. Privacy and Data Protection
The Company will handle any personal data provided by the Client in accordance with applicable data protection laws in the United Kingdom. Personal data will be used for the purposes of managing bookings, providing Services, processing payments, and communicating with the Client.
The Company will take reasonable steps to keep personal data secure and will not share such data with third parties except where required for the provision of the Services, for legal or regulatory reasons, or with the Clients consent.
18. Amendments to These Terms
The Company may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of the booking will apply to that booking. Updated Terms and Conditions may be made available by the Company through its usual communication channels.
19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.
20. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
No failure or delay by the Company in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall constitute a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Client and the Company in relation to the provision of the Services and supersede any previous agreements, understandings or arrangements, whether written or oral, relating to the same subject matter.
